Cheers To 30 Years!

As we say our goodbyes to 2023, we thought we’d take a little time to reflect on some of highlights from our 30th anniversary year.

We brewed a bunch of collabs with some our closest pals and favourite breweries, including six of the best from the USA as part of our American Celebration. Closer to home, we also brewed Assassin’s Trail, an outrageously hoppy West Coast IPA with Elusive and Nedward, a quirky little Belgian-inspired pale ale with Saint Mars Of The Desert.

Suds With Buds was comfortably the standout event of the year for us, especially as it had been such a long-term goal to host our own invitational beer festival. We were truly humbled by the response we received from the breweries who joined us (shout out to Green Cheek, Everywhere, Bale Breaker and Odell 🫶), as well as everyone who came along to soak up the atmosphere and a whole chunk of the 100+ beers (and ciders) available. Same time(ish) next year?! Plans are already well under way for the 2024 instalment, so make sure you’ve got June 29th in your diary! More info and ticket details coming soon…

Our Taproom has also gone from strength to strength this year and has continued to host some incredible events and none more so than the monthly Really Funny Comedy gigs. 2023 saw a quite ridiculous line-up of headline acts join us, including the likes of Omid Djalili, Kiri Pritchard-Mclean, Kae Kurd, Lost Voice Guy, Mark Nelson, Rachel Fairburn, Paul Tonkinson, Daliso Chaponda, Josh Pugh, Scott Bennett and Tom Stade. The list of comics Micky P Kerr’s already got booked for 2024 is equally impressive, so make sure you don’t dally as and when tickets become available.

We also had the pleasure of hosting Matt Forde and Lucy Beaumont for two sell-out preview gigs of their upcoming tours. All pretty mad really, when we stop and think about it!

Remembering what we’re specifically here for as a brewery and looking ahead to 2024, we’re ramping up our limited-release offering over the next twelve months, with no fewer than 47 different beers scheduled for production in addition to our year-round range. We’ll be brewing a mix of styles covering various pale ales (naturally), stouts, lagers, IPA’s, amber ales, and fruited beers And will be revisiting some old favourites, previous one-off brews and creating a whole host of brand new recipes along the way. Some beers will be only be available in cask, some keg and can only and others across all three package types.

The vast majority will be vegan-friendly, while the lagers will also be gluten-free. Check out our Little Book of Beer for a more detailed look at what‘s coming up and when...
